The cigarette smoking culture


A large number of theories have been out forward by various scientists through out the world in order to explain the growing number of individuals who take up smoking. To have a complete understanding of this debate, an individual should take into consideration various factors including the history of the smoking practices along with the multitude of roles which smoking plays in the every day life of an individual. The human mind tends to get increasingly dependent on any source that provides even a brief respite from the various stress situations that an individual faces. This dependence on cigarettes and other tobacco products is the major reason for the gaining popularity of cigarettes and all related products. An individual tends to smoke when out for a social gathering. It gives him immense communal and individual pleasure. Smoking has become increasingly common place, and the extent of this can be adjudged by the fact that it is now widely accepted as a part of almost all social gatherings. Individuals to indicate their care free attitude along with increasing optimism also often use cigarettes.

Cigarettes are also often used in the society as a pointer towards the fast paced and the highly modernized life of an individual. They are often used as a symbol of power and masculinity along with dominance. There are various museums that are dedicated to the various changes that have gone through out the world in terms of cigarettes. Some of the most famous museums are situated in the United Kingdom and Australia. The tobacco industry has grown astonishingly over the past 100 years. The fact that almost a few thousand people take up smoking every day is the living testimony of the fact that the tobacco industry is growing at an increasing rate every year and soon is expected to reach its highest.
